DEMON DELIGHT SMASHES WORLD RECORD
/Classy Bettor’s Delight 3yo Demon Delight can now add a World Record to his CV. Ahead of the NSW Derby final, Demon Delight paced a staggering 1.52.6 for the 2400 metre journey at Menangle in his Derby heat. Winning by eight metres, Demon Delight eclipsed the record held by great pacer Smolda.
Bettor’s Delight also sired both Group 1 winners on the card at Menangle. Both Thefixer and Spankem, won the lead in races to this week’s Miracle Mile. Thefixer paced 1.50.7 to defeat Tiger Tara and Spankem led all the way in his group victory. Spankem paced a 1.51.5-mile rate, he dashed home in 25.6! At Ashburton, Bettor’s Delight sired the trifecta in the Sapling Stakes for juveniles. The winner Smooth Deal, was bred and raised on the farm at Woodlands Stud.
American Ideal’s son Centenario was very impressive in his NSW Derby heat win, he strolled to an effortless victory, pacing home in 25 and change! He looks the nominal favourite ahead of this week’s final. Other good winners for American Ideal included Ideal Bliss at Devonport, Cee Cee In America at Gawler, Eagle Falls at Newcastle and Yankee Lincoln got the chocolates at Ararat.
Highview Tommy is on the board as a sire in Australia. His consistent 2yo son Kuzma got a well deserved victory at Devonport. He hasn’t been out of the money in four career starts!
