WOODLANDS STUD SHINES AT ALL AGE SALE
/Woodlands Stud would like to thank everyone who visited, inspected and purchased off us at the All Age Sale last Friday at Karaka. Every one of our 76 lots that were up for sale was sold on the day. This included the two sales toppers which were a Sweet Lou yearling colt who sold to Jean Feiss for $150,000 and a Sweet Lou weanling colt who was sold to an Australian buyer for a record breaking $120,000!
Woodlands Stud came to the fore on Harness Jewels day. Bettor’s Delight sired three winners, two of which headed home trifecta’s for the stallion. Utmost Delight was brave winning the Group 1 Woodlands Stud 4YO Diamond for the Robert’s family over Delishka and Seaswift Joy. Pat’s Delight finished off strong to win the Group 1 3YO Emerald over Sheriff and Solid Gold. His other winner was the Woodlands Stud bred Another Masterpiece who finished off a very consistent season winning the Group 1 2YO Emerald.
Bettor’s Delight continued another stellar season with plenty of other winners across the week. At Albion Park he sired a double when Miss Hoolligan and Punters Delight both greeted the judge, he repeated the effort at Shepparton with Kotare Yarra and Bettor Than That. He sired a quinella at Melton with Bossanova Bay and Trent From Punchy and at Ashburton, Nurburgring defeated his rivals.
Our other stallions kept their standard high on both sides of the Tasman this week. American Ideal sired plenty of winners in Australia, including Liukin who won at long odds at Maitland, Franco Edward won by seven metres at Pinjarra and at Melton, Isaac greeted the judge. Resident trotting sire Pegasus Spur also continued to sire winners when he picked up a double at Ashburton with Mr Fahrenheit and Peggy Nova both getting the chocolates in their races.
