‘MAVERICK’ IS TOP GUN ON INVERCARGILL CUP DAY

Bettor’s Delight’s classy son Maverick recorded his 10th career victory when he was successful in the Group 3 Invercargill Cup at Ascot Park. Overcoming his 20-metre handicap he showed supreme stamina to win the 3200-metre staying test. With over $120,000 on his card he was handled by Matt Anderson and is trained by Nigel McGrath.

Bettor’s Delight dominated the southern race day with a quartet of winners, among them where debut 2yo winner Last Waltz.

American Ideal continues to cut a sway through racing at Gloucester Park, he sired a double when Runrunjimmydunn and My Hard Copy where both winners, at Globe Derby, Eye See Double was an impressive 2yo winner on debut, American Brave was a Cambridge winner and Run Wick got the cash at Charlton.

Ace trotting stallion Pegasus Spur’s son Marvellous Max continued on his winning ways with victory at Melton, Quietly Spoken was an Albion Park winner and Malabar Spur trotted to victory at Cambridge.
