YOUAREMYCANDYGIRL COMPLETES EPIC DEBUT SEASON

American Ideal’s freakish daughter Youaremycandygirl has just completed a 2yo season for the ages when she won the $351,000 ‘Three Diamonds’ final at the Meadowlands. Pacing a mile in 1.51 she defied all challengers, with earnings of over $895,000 this season, the niece of Sweet Lou is a once in a generation filly. She is the top 2yo earner in the USA this year, even earning more money than any 2yo freshmen colt or gelding!

American Ideal’s top-flight son Soho Tribeca sent a clear message to all his Interdominion rivals with an opening round heat at Gloucester Park. Leaving his rivals flat footed he scooted home in 54 and change, he now has over $500,000 on his card.

Other good winners for American Ideal Included Triple Eight who remains undefeated in three starts, following another impressive Auckland victory, Saying Grace won on debut at Geraldine by five lengths and Shards Halo was a Newcastle winner.

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delights millionaire son Chicago Bull won his opening round Interdominion heat at Gloucester Park, he will certainly be a key player in the series moving forward, on the same card talented 4yo Ultimate Machete was a winner of the $125,000 4yo Classic, untouched he defeated his rivals easily.

Resident trotting stallion Pegasus Spur had very good winners in Xtra Time at Manawatu and Medusa was an impressive five length winner at Banks Peninsula.

ULTIMATE MACHETE CLAIMS NEW ZEALAND RECORD

Top flight 4yo pacer Ultimate Machete announced to the open class pacers he will be a force to be reckoned with when he sat in the chair to win the Group One Woodland Stud Free For All at Addington. In the $260,000 feature the son of Bettors Delight paced a New Zealand record of 1.51.9 for the 1950 metre journey. With over $570,000 on his ticket, he now heads to Perth for the key feature races during the coming weeks.

At Wyndham, Kiwi On Show paced a race track record for the mile when she stopped the clock in 1.52.2, she led in a Bettors Delight sired treble at Wyndham where Southbound Train and Steiger also greeted the judge. In Australia, War Dan was an impressive winner at Cranbourne on debut and Can’t Refuse was a Melton winner.

American Ideal’s millionaire son Bling It On resumed from an injury enforced break to win first up at Menangle in 1.50.8, it was a stunning return to racing. No shortage of winners for American Ideal with Sheez Good winning at Ashburton, Triple Eight remained undefeated with victory at Auckland, Ideal Suspect won at Gunbower, Estocada won amongst the goldfields of Kalgoorlie and Ideal Situation won at Menangle.

LAZARUS CRUSHES OPPOSTION IN BACK TO BACK NEW ZEALAND CUP WINS

Champion pacer Lazarus confirmed his status as an all-time great when recorded a stunning victory in the New Zealand Cup. The son of Bettor’s Delight gave his opposition little chance in the 2017 edition of the great race. Making it back to back New Zealand Cup wins, Lazarus now has over $2.75 million in stakes. Congratulations to everybody involved in this stunning standardbred.

Our own Bettors Delight trifected the great race, it was his fourth consecutive New Zealand Cup winner.  From the same race Tiger Tara who ran 3rd in the race, became Bettor’s Delights 33rd millionaire!

On the race track American Ideal continues to leave plenty of quality winners. Ideal Success was a winner at Swan Hill in track record time, Keayang Kallisto won at Melton in 1.54, she is in sizzling form at the moment, Mr Kiwi won on debut at Wyndham and Bontz provided an American Ideal double at the same meeting. Out west Mighty Flying Deal, Tas Man Bromac and Runrunjimmydunn all greeted the judge.

CHICAGO BULL JOINS AN ELITE CLUB

Diminutive pacer Chicago Bull became harness racing’s latest millionaire when he secured career win number twenty-four at Gloucester Park. The son of Bettors Delight has been a revelation since arriving from New Zealand taking all before him in a glittering career. For ‘The King’, Bettor’s Delight it is his 32nd millionaire, a feat unmatched.

Other good winners for Bettor’s Delight included Elle Mac winning her 3yo fillies sires stakes heat at Addington, square gaiter On Thunder Road resumed in style at Menangle in 1.54.7 and on the same card Tiger Tara rounded out NZ Cup preparations with a 1.51.8-mile victory.

Top stud American Ideal secured a treble at Auckland when Lisa Lincoln, Ideal Roman and Triple Eight all greeted the judge, classy mare American Tart resumed with victory at Addington, Yankee Strutter was an Albion Park winner and Ideal World continued on his winning way in Adelaide with victory at Globe Derby.

Kip Keino, a son of Pegasus Spur now has over $100,000 in career earnings following victory at Menangle and Another Chapter was an impressive Addington winner.

Youaremycandygirl completed a memorable freshman season when she put her rivals to the sword in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final at Hoosier Park in Indiana. A daughter of super sire American Ideal she dispatched her rivals by 4 ½ lengths in 1.53.2. With career earnings of over $600,000 the filly has been the clear standout amongst her peers this season. With Sweet Lou being her ‘uncle’, this is one of harness racing’s hottest families.

American Ideal’s son American Brave produced a New Zealand record when he won his 3yo sires stakes heat at Auckland. Returning a 1.53.8-mile rate for the 1700 metre trip, he now heads to Addington for the time honoured 3yo final. Other good winners for American Ideal included Streitkid at Hobart, Ideal Lass won on debut at Auckland and Ideal Moment got the chocolates at Shepparton. 

Bettors Delight continued to cut a swathe through the winner’s circle with winning trebles at Hobart, Melton and Kaikoura. This included a dominant performance by Lazarus breaking the track record in the Group 2 Kaikoura Cup. At Gloucester Park he sired a double when Donegal Rundlescreek and Itz Bettor To Win proved to strong and at Forbury Park, Jingles Bromac and Nakayla Franco repeated the dose. 

Pegasus Spur had very good winners in Kip Keino at Menangle, Leftrightcentre won at Cranbourne and Motu Great Sensation was a winner at the picturesque Kaikoura.

LAZARUS CONTINUES HIS MARCH TO THE NEW ZEALAND CUP

Champion pacer Lazarus continues to take all before him as prepares to defend his New Zealand Cup in November. At Ashburton, he added the Group 2 Flying Stakes to his burgeoning CV.

Coming from off the speed, the son of Bettor’s Delight defeated his stablemate, Australasia’s best mare Dream About Me. Pacing his closing half in 53.7, Lazarus is now headed to the Kaikoura Cup meeting.

Bettor’s Delight sired six winners at Ashburton, among the others to greet the judge where Ultimate Machete, Late Mail and Gentle Giant.

In Australia, his two sons Chicago Bull and Tiger Tara are on the cusp of becoming millionaires. Both where winners on opposite sides of the continent in very impressive fashion.

American Ideal’s progeny where up and about on both sides of ‘the ditch’. Ideal Scott now has $830k in the bank with his latest Albion Park victory, Don Domingo won fresh up at Addington, Sky Diamond has won three on the bounce since arriving in Australia, his latest victory was at Young, Sweet As was an easy Newcastle winner and Keayang Kallisto scored at Melton.

Great to see Madam Spur return to winning ways at Cambridge, the daughter of Pegasus Spur put it all together for John and Josh Dickie and at Geelong, Desert Flyer led in a Pegasus Spur trifecta, when she trotted stoutly to victory.

MAORI TIME CONFIRMS STATUS AS AUSTRALIA’S BEST TROTTER

Star trotter Maori Time created her own slice of history when she recorded her third victory in the Group 1 Bill Collins at Melton. The daughter of Pegasus Spur simply outstayed her rivals in the 1720 metre feature. With over $390,000 in career earnings, she now has recorded 23 career wins. Congratulations to her owner Fred Crews and trainer Brent Lilley.

Pegasus Spur sired other good winners in Caitlin’s Surprise at Auckland, Unico Pegasus at Menangle and Endsinparty made it back to back wins at Maryborough.

American Ideal continued his dominant North American season when he sired two New York Sires Stakes winners at Yonkers. Classy 3yo Funknwaffles easily won his $225,000 division, making it consecutive victories in the time-honoured feature. He now has over $811,000 in the locker. Sassy 2yo filly Alexis Faith recorded career win number six to captured her $225,000 division for trainer Cassie Coleman.

On the same Yonkers card, Bettor’s Delight’s son All Bets Off took his career earnings to over $2.8 million with victory in the $250,000 Dan Rooney Pace.

Other good winners for Bettor’s Delight included Bettor Trix at Addington, He Can Fly at Melton in 1,52.6 and Delightful Jade was a winner of the Group 3 ‘Piccadilly Princess’ at Menangle.
