HOW SWEET IS THIS CANDY GIRL!
/Youaremycandygirl completed a memorable freshman season when she put her rivals to the sword in the $600,000 Breeders Crown final at Hoosier Park in Indiana. A daughter of super sire American Ideal she dispatched her rivals by 4 ½ lengths in 1.53.2. With career earnings of over $600,000 the filly has been the clear standout amongst her peers this season. With Sweet Lou being her ‘uncle’, this is one of harness racing’s hottest families.
American Ideal’s son American Brave produced a New Zealand record when he won his 3yo sires stakes heat at Auckland. Returning a 1.53.8-mile rate for the 1700 metre trip, he now heads to Addington for the time honoured 3yo final. Other good winners for American Ideal included Streitkid at Hobart, Ideal Lass won on debut at Auckland and Ideal Moment got the chocolates at Shepparton.
Bettors Delight continued to cut a swathe through the winner’s circle with winning trebles at Hobart, Melton and Kaikoura. This included a dominant performance by Lazarus breaking the track record in the Group 2 Kaikoura Cup. At Gloucester Park he sired a double when Donegal Rundlescreek and Itz Bettor To Win proved to strong and at Forbury Park, Jingles Bromac and Nakayla Franco repeated the dose.
Pegasus Spur had very good winners in Kip Keino at Menangle, Leftrightcentre won at Cranbourne and Motu Great Sensation was a winner at the picturesque Kaikoura.
