WOODLANDS NEWS | YOUR ONE-STOP STALLION SHOP

Our sires accumulated 53 winners across Australasia last week, and there were plenty of eye-catching performers among them. In North America, Bettor's Delight was also furthering his stance as the best stallion of our time, siring the two feature race winners in Canada over the weekend. Sweet Lou was also in the spotlight again with three siring trebles across Friday and Saturday night.

It's now time to be booking your mares in for the fast approaching 2024-25 season. Our stallions are flying their own flags and achieving tremendous results with their progeny on the track, proving that Woodlands Stud is your one-stop-shop for stallions this season.

FREE LIGHT MASKS*

We are giving all Australasian breeders that book their a dry mare(s) into any of our stallions, a free equine light mask. When used on dry mares (recommended from around July 1st), these masks have been proven to stimulate early reproductive activity in horses which in turn will lead to a higher chance of pregnancy and earlier foals.
These masks can also be purchased for use on other mares, please contact our team today for more information.

LATHER UP

For the first time in his siring career, Lather Up is set to call New Zealand home. After starting his Australasian siring career in Victoria under the wonderful care of Kath McIntosh and her team at Llowalong Farms, Woodlands Stud have made the decision to base our whole roster at our Auckland farm for the upcoming season.

Lather Up is a sire who is just starting his career off as his debut crop hit the track with promise in Australasia. He is one of the fastest horses ever in harness racing history and broke two World Records and seven track records during his racing career. He continues to be one of the best value pacing sires in the industry.

SPEEDING SPUR

Speeding Spur is a champion trotter in his own right, who won nine Group 1 races during his career. He won over $1 million in stakes and won feature races in New Zealand, Australia and North America.

His debut crop are just starting to hit the track, and while small on numbers, trainers are very positive about the progeny. He is another sire who represents great value in the upcoming season and is available with quality, fresh semen across Australasia.
