WOODLANDS SIRES KICK START VICBRED SERIES IN STYLE
/At Melton, this Saturday past, the Vicbred Platinum Series for 3yo’s was contested and in the early season $50,000 features, American Ideal and Bettor’s Delight sired both winners.
American Ideal’s son Soho Hamilton, was a dominant winner of the 3yo colts & geldings division. Running home in 56 and change, the regally bred colt, looks a key player in 3yo classics as the season rolls on. Congratulations to leading breeder Rob Watson, who is an unabashed fan of American Ideal!
In the 3yo filly’s division, It’s Beaujolais, was a classy winner for John and Maree Caldow. The daughter of Bettor’s Delight was bred by Chris and John Yeomans and despite working in the run was too good for her peers. Well done to these early season Group 2 winners!
American Ideal also sired good winners in Cruz at Menangle, he paced 1.50.4, Son Of A Tiger won at Gloucester Park and he sired a double at Launceston, where Ideal Karalta and Illegal Immigrant got the chocolates.
In the USA, Bettor’s Delight’s son Bettor’s Wish continued his stunning season with victory in 1.48.1 in the 3yo Kentucky Sires Stakes final. With victory in the $250,000 feature, he pushed his career earnings to over $1,381,000 million! Closer to home Bettor’s Delight sired a quartet of winners at both the Auckland and Addington meetings held in the ‘shaky isles’. Amongst the winner where the impressive Line Up and Aqua Sancta.
Sweet Lou’s son Might Looee started his 3yo season in style with a stunning victory at Auckland. He settled last in the run and stormed home to win in 1.54 and change, he showed serious closing speed!
