STUNNING DEBUT FROM I’M A GIGOLO

Sweet Lou has unearthed another quality pacer ‘down under’ with the breath-taking debut of 3yo I’m A Gigolo at Addington. Settling at the rear, he circled the field at the half and kept going to win by a staggering 9 ¼ lengths. Running home in 28 and change the son of Sweet Lou was bred and raised at Woodlands Stud was sold at the 2018 yearling sales. The horse was purchased by American owner Larry Karr, a former part owner of Sweet Lou.

American Ideal sired a number of doubles across Australia, this week past with Vettel and Miss Blue Glory winning at Albion Park, at Penrith, King Triton and Rain Man greeted the judge and at Gloucester Park, Prada’s Ideal Dahling and Ideal One got the chocolates.

Bettor’s Delight marches towards his eighth Australian sires title with plenty of winners, amongst them were Raptor’s Flight and Max Delight who both broke 1.53 at Melton, Pembrooks Passion and Bettor Be Lucky both won at Menangle, Revolt scored at Echuca, American Delight at Gloucester Park and he sired another double when The Pantheist and Luvhavinfun won at Geelong.

Pegasus Spur’s star daughter I Am Pegasus made it career win number eight with victory at Maryborough and the ageless wonder It’s Not Dark Yet was a winner at Geelong.

The 2018/19 racing season has concluded in New Zealand and legendary stallion Bettor’s Delight’s emphatically claimed his eighth consecutive stallion title in the ‘shaky isles’. American Ideal continues his stellar run of winners in Australia, with Ideal Star pacing 1.52.3 at Menangle, Mighty Flying Deal cruised passed $140,000 in earnings with victory at Gloucester Park, Regal Rock won at Newcastle as did Rain Man, Roosevelt scored at Hobart and Betamerica won at Shepparton.

Great to see Highview Tommy generate another winner as Matamua scorched to victory in her 3yo fillies Regional Breeders Challenge heat at Bathurst.

BETTOR’S DELIGHT CONTINUES TO REWRITE SIRING HISTORY

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delight dominance of the Australia breeding scene continues relentlessly and in the week past his seasonal stallion earnings past $12,000,000 million dollars. In passing this figure he bested his own previous record and no other stallion in harness history can lay claim to his dual hemisphere deeds!

At Albion Park, Bettor’s Delight’s latest sensation Self Assured remains undefeated following his victory in the Queensland Derby. The 3yo now has recorded six wins on the bounce and paced a track record for the feature, he cruised home in 53.8! On the same card ace filly Jiggle and Jive won the $100,000 QBRED Triad fillies final for the 2yo’s. The daughter of Bettor’s Delight has enjoyed a great 2yo season. American Ideal’s progeny just keep winning. Good winners this past week included Saying Grace at Gloucester Park, at Penrith he sired a double when Sky Diamond and The Texas Ranger greeted the judge, Tisu Spirit won at Hobart, Ideal TJ at Stawell and Twilight Saga was a Pinjarra winner.

MEADOWLANDS PACE BELONGS TO BETTOR’S DELIGHT’S BOYS

At 21 years old, champion stallion Bettors Delight’s race track success has no boundaries! At the Meadowlands this Saturday past he sired the quinella in the legendary Meadowlands Pace for the 3yo colts and geldings. In the $682,000 feature his son Best In Show won the feature and stopped the clock in 1.48 flat! The victory gave Best In Show a winner’s cheque of $341,325! Bettor’s Wish ran a monster race to finish second after sitting in the open for the majority of the race.

Closer to home, Bettors Delight’s son Ohoka Punter won the Group 1 ‘Blacks A Fake at Albion Park and on the same card Self Assured announced himself as the next big thing when he sat in the chair to win the South East Derby, he paced his closing half in 53.4!

American Ideal recorded a plethora of winners this week and among them where Our Jack Starr at Bathurst, Maximus Red scored career win number 13 at Bathurst, Float On Bye won on debut in her 2yo race at Melton, Saying Grace was too classy at Gloucester Park and New York Rain paced 1.53.8 to score at Menangle.

Pegasus Spur had good New Zealand winners in CK Spur at Auckland and Imran Khan bowled them over to win at Forbury Park. Sweet Lou’s 2yo’s are rolling in North America and his latest winner was Columbo who won the $120,250 Lawrence B Sheppard pace at Yonkers in 1.55.4. He remains undefeated after two career starts.

I AM PEGASUS FLIES INTO GROUP 1 GLORY

I Am Pegasus was an impressive all-the-way winner of her Group 1 3yo Trotting Fillies Vicbred Super Series Final. The daughter of our resident trotting stallion Pegasus Spur has now made it seven wins from 10 starts and over $83,000 in the bank. Congratulations to the Vassallo’s and all her other connections.

Pegasus Spur also had a good winner in Imran Khan at Forbury Park. Gun sire American Ideal’s progeny had yet another strong week on the track. He had doubles with Just American and Twilight Saga at Pinjarra and Prince Potter and Dancing In Roma at Leeton. Ideal Liner picked up his 10th win and brought his stakes earnings to over $100,000 after his win at Gloucester Park. Pocket The Deal paced 1.53.9 at Bendigo, across the ditch Mogul picked up a good win at Alexandra Park and Ideal Rule greeted the judge at Rangiora.

The ‘King’ Bettor’s Delight continued his dominance with a multitude of winners across Australasia. Chicago Bull’s 2yo full-brother Perfect Stride picked up a win at Alexandra Park. He sired a treble at Redcliffe with Burning Ambition, Mucho Macho Man and Let’s Dig It all getting victories. Self Assured picked up the win in the Group 3 J C MucMullen at Albion Park. Poised To Pounce won the 2yo males Slipper Preview and Jacquelyn Anne was a 2yo winner at Wagga Wagga.

COAST TO COAST GROUP 1 2YO GLORY FOR WOODLANDS STALLIONS

Girl Power was on display from our stallion roster in Australia, this week past where both Sweet Lou and American Ideal’s 2yo progeny took centre stage. At Gloucester Park, Western Australia’s best juvenile filly Double Expresso was an all the way winner in the $100,000Group 1 Westbred fillies final. A debutante from Sweet Lou’s first ‘down under’ crop Double Expresso recorded career win number seven and has $160,000 in stake earnings.

American Ideal’s star daughter Pelosi added to her stellar juvenile season with victory in the NSW Breeders Challenge for 2yo fillies at Menangle. Returning a 1.52.6-mile rate, she was to classy for her rivals. This was Pelosi’s second Group 1 victory this season and she has banked $255,000 in career earnings. Congratulations to all involved in these winners!

American Ideal has unearthed another star in the United States, his son Shake The House was a dominant winner of the $500,000 Max C Hempt Memorial for 3yo male pacers at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. He paced a 1.49.2 mile and was an easy 2 length winner, he pushed his career earnings to over $410,000!

No shortage of winners for Bettor’s Delight with both Jemstone and Hurricane Harley securing wins in their Vicbred semi- finals at Melton, Ana Malak was an impressive Kilmore winner, Pass The Speights and Jiggle And Jive got the chocolates at Redcliffe and Bettor Be Tricky won at Penrith.

TYPHOON TIFF BLOWS RIVALS AWAY IN GROUP ONE FINAL

Classy filly Typhoon Tiff added to her impressive career record when she won the $100,000 Group 1  Westbred 3yo fillies final at Gloucester Park this Friday past. The daughter of Bettor’s Delight was able to control the tempo in the key feature race and sprinted home in 56 seconds to claim the prize. Typhoon Tiff was bred by long time WA breeders Colleen and Trevor Lindsay and handled by trainer reinsman Colin Brown. Congratulations to all concerned.

Bettor’s Delight was seen to advantage in both the New South Wales and Victorian state bred schemes this past week. In Victoria, his 3yo progeny won Vicbred heats at Kilmore, amongst the winners where Two Times Bettor, Brevity and Demon Delight.

At Menangle, top flight 3yo Max’s Delight won his 3yo semi-final in clinical fashion and War Dan won his 4yo semi-final also. Gun sire American Ideal’s ace Tasmania daughter Ideal Bliss won the $50,000 4yo Granny Smith final at Devonport. This was her 11th career win and she has $117,000 in stake earnings. At Auckland,

American Ideal sired a double when his 2yo son’s Tommy Lincoln and Ideal Agent greeted the judge against their older rivals, at Ballarat Ideal Conquest paced 1.53 and change to defeat his rivals, Bet America was an all the way winner at Warrugal and at Menangle, the Matt Day bred Miss Halfpenny won her 3yo NSW Breeders Challenge semi- final and now has over $215,000 in career earnings.

Sweet Lou’s ace juvenile son Kohanah was an easy winner of the 2yo Sweepstakes final for the lads in Hobart. In his debut season, he has won four races and is easily Tasmania’s best juvenile.

BETTOR’S DELIGHT’S JUVENILES GREAT SEASON CONTINUES

Bettor’s Delight’s juvenile crop for the 2018/19 season are having a very productive race track season in Australia. At Menangle his progeny won two semi finals of the Breeders Challenge in impressive fashion.

Top flight pacer Jilliby Nitro recorded career win number six when he led all the way in his semi-final. He paced the mile in 1.52.3 and now his seasonal earnings of $234,000.

In the filly’s division, A Rainbow Delight paced 1.54.5 to win her semi-final and looks a clear player heading into the Breeders Challenge finals.

In Victoria, classy 2yo filly Jemstone won a heat of her 2yo Vicbred 2yo fillies division. American Ideal’s ace son, Ideal Liner make it five wins on the bounce with another Gloucester Park victory, he is headed towards much bigger things. The Texan Ranger roared home to win his heat of the 3yo Breeders Challenge at Menangle, the son of American Ideal is shaping into a nice pacer.

Other good winners for American Ideal included Alpha Charlie at Melton, Yankee CJ won at Horsham and Intheskyrocket paced a closing half in 56 and change to score in her 2yo race at Gloucester Park.

Sweet Lou’s son Kohanah made it career win number three when he scored at Hobart by 15 metres and resident trotting sire Pegasus Spur had good winners in Trotting Rockstar at Kilmore and Mr Fahrenheit won at Addington.
