50 Individual Winners for What The Hill

What The Hill has continues to make a big impact on the trotting ranks across New Zealand for the last three season since his debut crop hit the track, but 2024 has really seen him step up and make himself known.

He is first or second on all three age group leaderboard’s that he has progeny of racing age, currently clear leading 4-year-old sire and second on the two and three-year-old lists, and his progeny are only just starting to ramp up for the second half of the season. Over the weekend he hit another milestone in his career, when his 3-year-old daughter Clovelly Hill trotted to victory at the Ashburton meeting on Sunday and became the sire’s 50th individual Australasian winner.

Out of a Monkey Bones dam, Clovelly Hill has been going some eye-catching races and it was only ever a matter of time until she cleared the maiden ranks, she was bred and is raced by the Boylan family and trained by John Howe.

What The Hill continues to leave talented progeny and is already the sire of the Group 1 winners Lovemeto (Love You dam), Dreambigaimhigh (Love You dam) and Inasinglemoment (Monarchy dam), as well as other talented performers such as Bet N Win (Pegasus Spur dam), Ya Rite Darl (Dream Vacation dam), Kiss And Run (Love You dam) and Joca’s Hill (Pegasus Spur dam). Bet N Win, Inasinglemoment and Ya Rite Darl are all the leading trotters of their respective age categories for 2024.

He ticks every box for square-gait mares, being a proven sire with exciting progeny, superbly bred being a son of Muscle Hill out of a full-sister to Majestic Son and a terrific race record being the 3-year-old of his year, earning $1.2 million on the track from his 12 wins and trotting a blistering 1:51.8.

He has arrived in Auckland and is ready for the 2024-25 breeding season. He has a reduced fee of $5,000 + GST in New Zealand and $5,500 inc GST in Australia for the season in a bid to help breeders have affordable access to a fresh semen, World Class trotting sire.
