/Downbytheseaside was a star on the track and he is now leaving his mark as sire.
In his first two Northern Hemisphere seasons, he was leading first season sire and at the completion of the 2023 season he was the leading 3-year-old sire, surpassing Captaintreacherous.
A must on all yearling sale shopper lists, Downbytheseaside's progeny have been keenly sought in Australia and New Zealand over the previous selling seasons and we expect this demand to continue to rise over the next few years. With yearlings already making north of $100,000 in Australia and New Zealand, Downbytheseaside's progeny are becoming a go to for many leading trainers.
He has bred consecutive big books in the Southern Hemisphere the last few seasons and the best is yet to come. He has already kick started the season in style with a January winner in Australia and has had a solid number of trial winners already also.
He heads to the 2023 NZB Standardbred National Yearling Sales having sired 20 lots consisting of 12 in Auckland, all colts, and eight in Christchurch, four colts and four fillies.
