2022-23 New Zealand Stallion Roster Announced

Woodlands Stud is proud to announce their New Zealand Stallion Roster for the upcoming 2022-23 breeding season.

We are standing by our commitment to both New Zealand and Australian breeders by standing stallions in both countries but making all seven sires available to breeders on both sides of the Tasman via fresh, chilled semen.

In continuing to show our strong support to New Zealand breeders, we are standing Bettor’s Delight, Downbytheseaside, Sweet Lou, What The Hill and Speeding Spur at our main farm in Auckland. It is common knowledge that you have a much higher chance of getting your mare in foal when using semen from the same country, so we see this as being a huge asset to the New Zealand breeding industry.

Our association with Llowalong Farms remains strong and both American Ideal and Lather Up will be shuttling back to Victoria in August to join Kath and her team – making both sires Vic Bred Eligible.

Discounts to the sires are available when using our Early Bird special (pay before 30th September 2022) or by sending multiple mares to our sires – contact our team for full details on these discounts.

Following on the huge success of his first crop in North America as the leading first season sire and second overall two-year-old sire, Downbytheseaside has had an increase in his fee. His book in Australia was full and closed several months ago and he is building another strong book of mares for New Zealand.

Both Lather Up and Speeding Spur have breeding incentive discounts for the season and as both sires were among the best of their generations, these discounts make them even more appealing to breeders.

The Australian Stallion Roster is to follow and our confirmed shipping details will be advised in August.
