SWEET LOU’S DAUGHTER ANNEXES GROUP 1 FEATURE  

Sweet Lou’s ace New Zealand daughter Sweet On Me bounced back from her first defeat to win the Group 1 New Zealand Sires Stakes for 2yo fillies at Alexandra Park, Auckland. In the $138,000 feature, she used her speed to take over mid race and roared away in a closing quarter of 26.8 to secure victory. Sweet on Me is the standout filly of her peer group thus far and now heads to the Harness Jewels at Addington, she has bankrolled over $170,000 in stakes.

Bettor’s Delight’s millionaire son Spankem added to his outstanding 4yo season when he led all the way to win the Group 1 ‘Messenger Stakes’ at Auckland. Scooting home in 54.3, Spankem has been a revelation this season and will be nominal favourite for horse of the year in New Zealand.

Bettor’s Delight’s progeny filled the placings in the $160,000 PGG Wrightson 2yo Sale Series Final at Addington. One Change maintained his undefeated juvenile season when he won the feature ahead of Smooth Deal.

No shortage of winners for American Ideal, he sired a double at Invercargill when Firenze Amore and 2yo The Ideal Touch greeted the judge, American Zest was a Melton winner, Triple Eight sat in the chair to win at Auckland and Ideal Some Magic, continued on his winning way at Bendigo.
