WOODLANDS STUD STALLIONS DOMINATE AT AUCKLAND

The Woodlands Stud stallion roster came to the fore once again last Friday night at Alexandra Park, winning five races on the card. Champion sire Bettor’s Delight’s progeny picked up four wins on the night with a trifecta when the Woodlands Stud bred Bettor Step Aside got home at the head of the field. He also claimed a first four in the Group 1 Northern Oaks when Elle Mac showed her class to claim the victory over Delight In Me, Gold Orchid and Bettor Joy.  

Other good winners for Bettor’s Delight across the week were Dracarys in the Group 3 Downbytheseaside Leonard Memorial at Addington with Kayla Marie running a super race to bring up a Bettor’s Delight quinella. He also had good doubles at Menangle with Murano and Delightful Memphis and Gloucester Park with The Lightning Strike and Beaudiene Beaufighter and trebles at Stratford with Quick As Fire, Itsokbeingbetter and Count Landeck all winning and at Melton where Beltane, Delightful Jazz and Rishi all greeted the judge.

American Ideal continued to produce winners on both sides of the ditch this week. Runrunjimmydunn made it three in a row at Gloucester Park, Ideal Bliss won at Hobart, Don Domingo took out the Cheviot Cup and Nearis Green headed home a trifecta for the stallion at Addington with Son Of A Tiger and Buck Eye rounding out the placings.

Trotting Sire Pegasus Spur’s progeny remained strong once again this week. Pegasus Elegance won at Menangle, Blood And Whiskey trotted to victory at Stratford and Sarah Palin greeted the judge for the tenth time at Waikouaiti.
