WOODLANDS STALLIONS ENJOY GROUP 1 SUCCESS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE TASMAN

American Ideal and Bettor’s Delight had a stellar weekend in Australia and New Zealand when their progeny secured three Group 1 winners in the key racing fixtures in both countries. American Ideal’s daughter The Orange Agent is currently the hottest female pacer ‘down under’ and she has completed the mares triple crown when she won the Benstud Queen of the Pacific at Melton. Scooting home in 55.5, she has now banked over $725,000 and recorded 23 career wins.

Champion stallion Bettor’s Delight had a night out at Addington. His son Spankem was a winner of the NZ  Group 1 2yo sires stake final. Spankem has never been out of the money in nine career starts and has now bankrolled over $170,000. This was a richly deserved victory. Star 3yo filly Spanish Armada, punished her rivals in NZ Oaks. In a brutal performance for the 2600 metre journey she was a 6 ¾ length winner. In the process, she obliterated the NZ fillies record. With over $712,000, the Woodlands Stud bred star is clearly the head of the class. Congratulations to everybody associated with these Group 1 winners.

A big shout out to all those who attended the Autumn sale at Karaka and supported Woodlands. We thank you and look forward to seeing your purchasers in the future. Also, a big thank you to stud master Tony Grayling and his support staff who seamlessly handled 60 weanlings with little fuss and the results spoke for themselves.
