LAZARUS COMPLETES 3YO SEASON IN DEVASTATING STYLE

Outstanding 3yo Lazarus finished his racing season on a high with a powerful pacing display to secure the New Zealand Derby at Addington. The son of champion sire Bettor’s Delight paced 1.56.6 for the 2600 metre journey and ran home in 55.1 after facing the breeze. The victory was career win number fifteen and he has now won over $900,000 in stakes. Congratulations to all concerned and he now looks forward to the New Zealand Cup.   Plenty of other quality winners for Bettor’s Delight including Spanish Armada, who the NZ Sires stakes heat for 2yo fillies at Auckland, I’m Wrongly Accused and A Piccadilly Princess won their respective Victorian Oaks heats and My Willow continued her devastating form with victory in the Group 3 Jodies Babe Harness Breeders Vic for the mares at Melton.   No shortage of winners for American Ideal, with classy Sydney mare Sally Fletcher going passed $100,000 in earnings with a 1.53.1 win at Menangle, American Boy delivered two victories in a week by saluting at Pinjarra and Bunbury, The Spinster paced 1.54.9 to win in the west also, she certainly looks an Oaks proposition.   In the shaky isles, top mare Democrat Party showed enormous closing speed to win the Winton Cup blasting a closing quarter in 25.7, she has now won over $235,000 in stakes, Culler Coded was a winner on the same card and Idealindiamonds was a winner at Banks Peninsula.
