Alongside being a terrific racehorse. Downbytheseaside was brought for the reason that he can be crossed with many Australasian mares. Being a son of Somebeachsomewhere, some of the proven crosses for that line are as follows: 

BETTOR’S DELIGHT - Downbytheseaside is a brilliant option for breeders with Bettor’s Delight mares. He is the perfect cross for these mares and it is possible he would add some height into the smaller Bettor’s Delight mares. This cross is already proving to be successful with many of his feature race winning fillies being bred on this cross including Coastal Babe, Winelight, Atlantic Gem and Forever Dream!

ARTSPLACE - this line works very well with Somebeachsomewhere and his sons. Captaintreacherous was bred on this cross. SPORTSWRITER mares have been a popular cross with Downbytheseaside in both North America and Australasia and the cross is already proven to be successful. ART MAJOR mares are having plenty of success when crossed with Downbytheseaside. MAJOR IN ART and DREAM AWAY mares are also crossing well.

IN THE POCKET - This line has worked well already with Somebeachsomewhere and his sons. CHRISTIAN CULLEN mares also fit into this bracket and Downbytheseaside’s talented daughter Aardiebytheseaside is bred on this cross.

WESTERN HANOVER – mares with sires from this line have already seen success when crossed with Downbytheseaside. His top son Pebble Beach is out of a WESTERN IDEAL mare. This is also encouraging for breeders with AMERICAN IDEAL, ROCKNROLL HANOVER and ROCK N ROLL HEAVEN mares.
