LEASES

Racing Lease Partnership of Fillies – In 2009 for the first time Woodlands Stud  organised a partnership lease of  well-bred fillies which they hoped to eventually retain as broodmares after a racing career. Of the initial group two fillies have been replaced and a third added to the group. So at the start of the 2010 season three 3YO fillies have shown enough  promise to make possibly the grade. Woodlands will review the suitability of these young horses during the year and may replace any that the trainers do not rate worthy of a race preparation. All have been  placed with top trainers. and as of 1 August 2010 these are as follows;

4. VICTORS DELIGHT (3YO Bettor’s Delight–Victor Supreme) trainer Steven Reid
5. BETTOR ROMANCE (2YO Bettor's Delight - Jessies Grace) trained by Barry Purdon,
6. SUNHAVEN PRINCESS (2YO Live Or Die - Trickster ) trained by Brent Mangos

Terms and conditions of Racing Lease Partnership

1. There will be thirty shares in total with Woodlands Stud retaining at least ten of those and the remaining twenty being taken up by those who wish to join the partnership. There is no right of purchase as the stud will retain the fillies for breeding.

2. The lease shall run until the end of each of the fillies five year old career.

3. At the expiry of the lease the fillies shall be retired to stud at the sole discretion of Woodlands Stud.

4. In the event the stud decides to continue racing any filly past the term then each member will be offered first right of refusal to continue racing her under similar terms as the original lease excepting the period of the lease which will be solely decided by the stud.

5. If a horse is uncompetitive on the assessment of the trainer then the stud reserves the right to terminate the lease and retire the filly to stud before expiry of the term.Woodlands may replace the retired filly with another with syndicate approval..

6. The lease shall start on 1/8/2009 with a monthly automatic payment of $450 for each share to be paid into Woodlands Partnership Lease A/C.

7. Should a partner fall more than one month behind in his or her payment their share will be offered to remaining members.
