Gr1 Golden Slipper Glory
Ohokas Bondy did all the hard work in winning the $125,000 2YO GR1 Golden Slipper Stakes at Gloucester Park. After starting out wide from barrier 7 he did a power of work the final lap to grind the leader into submissive close to home in a time of 1:57.7 for the 2130m trip. The geldings owners made the move to WA after he ran four places in very strong company in NZ, with this win he makes it three from three and close to $100k banked since arriving in Australia.
Benediction continued he winning form taking out her heat of the Australasian Breeders Crown (fillies) at Launceston. The 2YO daughter of Bettor’s lead from the start being challenged down the straight with a final quarter of 28.3 she won again making it 5 wins, 3 seconds from her 8 starts.
Delightfullybettor, the 2YO Bettor’s filly won at Menangle in a fast 1:56.9 while in the second race, fellow Bettor’s Intrepid Traveller a 2YO gelding also saluted by a margin of 9.7m on the line.
Bettor Bet Black won by 5m at Redcliffe. The 2YO son of Bettor’s came from barrier 6 and moved to the lead in the final lap to score.
Kotare Casino stepped out at Alexandra Park to continue a trend of many Bettor’s 2YO who salute at their first race track appearance, the filly won in a close finish but after coming from barrier 14 it was a massive effort to score.

American Ideal had 2 winners in the US with the filly Idyllic winning in 1:54.4 at Mohawk, while another filly Eagle Kelly won at Buffalo Raceway in 1:58.4 in a $23,648 heat of New York Sires Series,. Of note in the other NYSS Heats on the night - American Bandita 2nd, America Ferrera 3rd, Jk Geronimo 3rd, You’re Too Funny 3rd & Sittinthemorninsun also 3rd. From American Ideal’s top 20 starters/qualifiers, 13 have times faster than 1:57.4 so far in the US with the early reports from AUS & NZ trainers also very encouraging.
